Kusidasi, Turkey

Hello Friends - we had a wonderful day in Turkey. By far the most beautiful & clean stop we've made. We got on a tour bus at about 9:30 am and traveled to the house they believe Mother Mary lived out her life. From there we went to the archelogical site of Ephaesus - it was amazing & very, very hot. Did I mention it was hot? We were wearing 50 spf and I still burned a little. I was amazed at the sites there, and the skill & knowledge of our Tour Guide, Sami - a turkish linguist. Sami has probably toured more of the US than any of us and was extremly interesting. After the ruins which lasted about 2 hours in the heat & sun we visited a pottery factory & had lunch outside. Safron Rice, Roasted Chicken, Greek Salad, & Turkish Beer. After lunch we toured a little more of the city & a carpet dealer. He explained to us the art of carpet making, the difference between a single Knot carpet and a double Knot carpet. It was amazing, and yes there will be a couple of family heirlooms arriving in about 6 to 8 weeks. One of the carpets took over eight months to make and other 6 months - it's wool on wool, not as beautiful as the silk - but still amazing & we loved them. We set sail about 6pm and just made the ship. What a full & fun day. Love to all, see you soon!
